Thank You

The laying of new tarmac at Blyton Park marks the realisation of an ambition hatched in 2003 to construct a circuit specifically for track days and advanced driver tuition.

It would not have been possible without the help, encouragement and sheer hard work of a great many people to whom I would like to say a heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU.

My wife Jane for living the dream and supporting me right the way through its very long journey to reality. David and Gill Jacques and family who own the land. Nigel Thompson of Scunthorpe and District Motorsports Club, Stuart and Brenda Ranby who promote the Rallycross and Toby and Mike Taylor of Norasport for being patient and believing that we would get there. Ron Watson and Rod Stanniland of the MDA for much help and sound advice as well as the Doran family for believing in Blyton. Eugene O Brien and John Barker for track design and layout. Nick Turley for patiently interpreting our website requirement and building it with Nicky and Carlo and the Projected Image team. A whole host of friends for constant encouragement.

We have also been incredibly fortunate to have great support from professional advisers and contractors and I would like to thank every organisation who has contributed to the amazing transformation going on at Blyton as I write these words. Roger Tym and Partners for Planning Consultancy, Fraser Brown Solicitors, Mike Fillery Acoustic Consultants, Jordan Road Surfacing Ltd, Blyton Service Station and Mobile Home Movements.

Lastly, I would like to remember my Dad who was himself instrumental in the creation of the Curborough sprint circuit near Lichfield. He passed his love of cars and Motorsport on to me and nearly 20 years after we last watched a race together, his spirit lives on with the creation of the Blyton Park circuit.
